I stuck it out with this company for a long time, and by that I mean multiple years.
Additionally I was denied a job title change without pay increase that would at least reflect my responsibilities so I could put it on my resume. The funny thing about that is that I always scored very high in my reviews, actually near perfect. In fact, those raises might have well been non-existent because after deductions like taxes I could barely afford an extra coffee a week. I actually was a contributor in meetings consisting of 8 or less people, all of which were high level employees such as, directors of departments, VP's, and even the CEO.This level of job responsibilities came with extremely poor raises, and I mean really poor. There was more job duties but I don't have all day. My job ranged from assisting customer issues, creating high volume sales, auditing departmental performance, training large amounts of new employees, dissecting product reviews, and then identifying areas of improvement for those products.

I was the lowest level full time employee can be in this company, and had such broad responsibilities that you would think I was making them up. Don't have anything to do? Find something to do, or someone will find you something to occupy your time while you're on the clock. And work is what you're going to do until you clock out. Everyone is pretty much laid back, but not too laid back where they just let you do anything and everything and run wild. Also, when you're a target store, (prone to theft) apparently, no one gets raises, bonuses, or extra hours.

Look up items in the SKU Book to see if we have specific items on hand in the store, or check other stores for that specific item to please the Guest, and assure them that you tried your best to help them as best as you could. If Guests look like they're looking for something, ask them if they need help finding anything. It's good to get reaquainted with the store every time you come back to work, to make sure you know where everything is so you can help Guests as they come in to shop.Ī typical day at work in Spencer's is Greet the Guests, and give a sales pitch that's happening currently. It could look one way one day, and completely look different the next. The store is constantly changing with new promotional sales.
